Teacher in Illinois

I think it is great what the teacher in Illinois is doing. She is doing something that all the teacher should be a part of. We need to teach our children how to be healthy and when the school system provides unhealthy foods like they do, we are not setting a very healthy example for the children to follow. Teachers are there to teach about all aspects of life not just math, science and English, but also how to be healthy. We, as teachers and as adults need to stand up for those who can not stand up for themselves. This does not just stop at our own children but the children we teach and the children all over the world. We could even extend this to the animals in our community. There are so many wrongs out there that need to be righted. Our morals are falling very short these days.
